This place seemed very busy. Attempted to try it. My experience was not tasteful. The seafood did not taste fresh. The calamari tasted prepackaged and from the freezer. My baked cod was not fully cooked. I'm a big advocate on trying seafood from different places. This was the worst experience I have experimented. Also, the ventilation systems were gunked with dust that looked like it was sitting there caking up for years. Atmosphere and food was a huge disappointment.
Great & Simple Seafood. Period. Great prices and properly cooked seafood from steamed lobster to baked swordfish and even rainbow trout. I was very pleased by the menu selections and the daily special board. I will definitely be taking my family here in the future. Yes, the "decor" and style of this restaurant are that of a fast food establishment and the tables are often dirty from the fast turnover but the food is good. You order at the counter and they call out your number when it's ready. They'll bring your food out to your table if they can see you and that's where the service ends. It's not a typical restaurant so don't go there with that expectation. You can also place to go orders and take the food home. Delicious seafood at a great price is what you will find here!
This is kind of a biased opinion because I work there in wholesale. But I love this place. I always have. The staff is like one giant family and the management is the same. Everyone is equal and there's no exclusion. I'll always enjoy S.S Lobster.
Half McDees and half typical small restaurant. They do get serious lines during peak hours but these guys are actually distributers of fresh seafood to many area restaurants with a side business serving locals cooked food. Most times you will see lines if it is a holiday or a weekend with great weather. I usually just buy from the deli side instead of eating in and cook at home.
Best restaurant that is also a seafood distributer for other food service establishments. Order at the counter, and they deliver to you freshly prepare seafood from their adjacent market. Great selections. Always fresh and inexpensive. My favorite eatery in Massachusetts.
