Ruel electric tried to take advantage of bad situation. During the ice storm of 08, we had minimal power and no heat for going on 8 days (less than 40 degrees in home). When talking to Jay from Ruel electric, he said that we would be able to switch the breaker for our furnace that wasnt getting any voltage to a breaker that would get voltage so we could run the furnace and gain heat. He came out and in 30s he said he was wrong and it couldnt be done. he then charged us $70 for "service call" and didnt give us a receipt or work order. He did not use any equipment to determine that this woudnt work. When I called to discuss the situation, he said he didnt have time to discuss this and hung up on me. I called right back and he angrily said he was to busy and hung up again. I urge everyone in the Fitchburg area to not use Ruel electric. They are less than 1 star and just out for a quick buck.
During winter one circuit of the house went down so I called Ruel Electric and they sent someone to take a look. The electrician could not find the problem and left. They did not provide me the price estimate I requested nor a fix to the problem but did mail me a $297.50 bill for the absolutely zero value provided! Next day I called another licensed electrician (different company) and he fixed issue in 30 minutes for $95 labor & parts. Later I stopped by Ruel Electric, bill in hand trying to explain the front desk lady how I received no value from that visit and see if they could work with me on the price but she had no intention to help. I paid $297.50 and left. Hey, you live and learn. Never again!
